About Us

Act-For-The-Future classes kicked off in 2013 in a brick building, with seventeen students, one room and one big board, one big table to cut materials, twenty chairs, two sewing machines and one volunteer teacher teaching sewing. Classes are three days per week with additional practice on the weekends.

There are a lot of children in Haiti who don’t attend school because their parents can’t afford to pay for the tuition. Many Haitian teenagers are motivated, and look for opportunities to earn money to continue going to school, but opportunities are often lacking. Act-For-The-Future gives teens an opportunity to learn a trade that would help them earn money for tuition, yet would not offer so much money that it would distract them from their education.

Our goal is to grow our capacity from seventeen (17) to sixty (60) students. To do this we will need to raise the funds necessary to support this vision. The funds will be used to pay the teachers, for materials and equipment for the classroom, and rent for a larger building.

Please help us make a difference.
